The third season starts out with Dexter accidently killing Oscar Prado instead of a drug dealer named "Freebo". Oscar is the younger brother of a attorney named Miguel Prado. Miguel, along with the rest of the police department believe that Freebo killed Oscar. Miguel and Dexter become best friends after Miguel catches Dexter killing Freebo, and promise to take this secret to the grave. The two become best friends and Miguel asks Dexter to teach him how to kill. After Miguel steers away from the code as well as Dexter's friendship, the two become enemies. Dexter is forced to kill Miguel, while Miguel decides to work with another serial killer by the name of "The Skinner", in order to get rid of Dexter.
