Andrea Pirlo was born in the Milan region but early in his career he decided to join Brescia. Pirlo was not known for his flashy playing skills therefore, he was not thought of highly by the large Italian clubs. However his persistence and vision with the ball caught the eye of Milan who purchased him in 2001. Ever since, Pirlo has become the glue that holds the Milan midfield together. His wisdom craftsmanship and tranquility on the pitch allows Milan to quickly transition from offence to defense. He is now considered the modern day Demetrio Albertini, who once occupied Pirlo’s position. Pirlo has demonstrated to be a dead ball specialist and a perfectionist on corner kicks which has provided many benefits for Milan and Italy. Recently he has contributed to a World Cup victory in 2006.
