This southern Italian farm boy had one goal in mind: to be a successful footballer. After his debut in Perugia, he abruptly left Italy to persue greener pastures in Scotland with the Glasgow Rangers. After an unsuccessful season in Scotland, he returned to Italy to join A.C. Milan in 1999. It was here where his career was re born and made his mark as being an aggressive midfielder with the heart of a lion. His rough exterior and his pit bull-like play has brought a unique aspect to Milan’s midfield as well as stability. His warm hearted demeanor on and off the pitch has given him an infinite of fan support and a veteran-like status in the dressing room.

Gattuso is married to a local Canadian woman which he met while playing an exhibition tournament with Glasgow.
