Partizan Belgrade is also a team in Serbia. It is also a soccer club in Belgrade Serbia. Partizan is the number one rival of Red Star Belgrade. The main colours of Partizan are black and white, compared to Red Star, red and white. Partizan was founded on October 4, 1945. The name Partizan comes from the word partisans which was a communist military formation during World War II in former Yugoslavia. It was formed during the World War. As well as Red Star, the club was formed in order for youth to have some physical activities to do during the war. The current coach of Partizan is Slavisa Jokanovic. The one player that has shown some amazing soccer skills and that has had a huge impact on Partizan is Dragan Mance. As much as I am a Red Star fan, his soccer skills and enthusiasm was incredible. In 1984, Dragan lead Partizan in the UEFA Cup, that year they tied against Queens Park Rangers. Dragan was really making it popular around the world. He was known around the globe. Sadly, on September 3, 1985 at the most crucial and most popular time of his career, Dragan died in a car crash. The rivalry between the cities 2 most popular clubs has become known as the greatest football rivalries world wide. The globe has labelled the matches as eternal derby and in Serbian veciti derbi . The matches between the two rival teams have been spectacular to watch. The current standings reveal that Partizan holds the first place, while Red Star is right underneath them in second place.
