Djordje Milovanovic dies at 53

Djordje

Djordje Milovanovic was a famous player that played for Red Star Belgrade. He died suddenly on February 15, 2009. He acquired the nick name Djoka the Bomb because of his extremely strong shot. He was able to score most of his goals due to the strong shot. He was strongly admired by the fans. Milovanovic was born on September 13, 1956. He will be strongly remembered as a crucial midfielder that played in the 1978/1979 UEFA cup Final.

According to official site of Red Star, on January 10, 2009, Red Star Belgrade has finally come to a decision in regards to the players that they want to invite. Aval Issah, Ivan Gvozdenovic and Djordje Tutoric are the newest team players of Red Star Belgrade. Ghanaian Mohammed Awal Issah came from South Africa and will play as a defence midfielder; he has signed a 4-year contract with Red Star. Djordje Tutoric comes from a Turkish top league team, but broke the contract to play for Red Star. Lastly Ivan Gvozdenovic, has once played for Red Star, but left to play for several other Belgrade team, but is gladly returning to play for Red Star
